Five top schools in Ghana are coming together for an exciting climate education competition. Students from Achimota SHS, Accra Girls SHS, Accra Academy SHS, Legon Presec SHS, and Labone SHS will showcase their creativity while learning about our environment.
This year's theme, "Sankofa: learning from the past, acting for the future," encourages young people to connect traditional wisdom with modern climate action. The competition takes place on October 3, 2025, at Achimota Senior High School.
Organised by The Climate Sociologist in partnership with CDKN Ghana and other local organisations, this event combines education, creativity, and environmental awareness in a fun, competitive format. It's a great opportunity for students to express their understanding of climate issues through creative arts while building important skills for the future.
Come support these talented students as they demonstrate how art and creativity can help address climate challenges in our communities.

Climate change does not only affect economic factors, but also affects the socio-psychological well-being
of our livelihood. Although research has been conducted on the impacts of climate change on physical
and mental health as well as social aspects associated with climate change, not much has been done on
its impact of women particularly, those along the coastal belts in developing countries whose livelihood
depends on the resources of the sea and their level of involvement in decision taken by their husbands
with respect to, mitigating against the challenges of climate change.
